Rats off a sinking ship

Catching the attention of La Lobster recently, an article in a professional magazine proclaims, in bold type no less, that 8,000 of the body's members have signed up for its job alerts. Cripes, thinks La Lobster, that's a huge count for a small industry whose printed job vacancies bulletin has been getting increasing thin over the years. How many members are there? Well, there's the thing. Not enough for the esteemed body to publish the details in any size of type anywhere. Being a resourceful type, La Lobster set out to discover the truth. The body count turns out to be 21,000. So, that means 38% are actively looking for another job...or possibly any job at all. Time to start swimming, I'd say.
