Humanities RIP

I've thought long and hard about the decline in value of the professional qualifications I hold, (four if you must know). I have a first degree firmly of the 'humanities' type and what a load of use it's proved (not) to be...(slight sarcasm intended). It seems others are beginning to see the reality for what it is too. Oh yes, we've all 'suspected' the decline, and the rot and the dust etc. etc. We've watched the rise of mickey-mouse studies, the bonuses paid to brown-nosers and all that other stomach churning stuff. Will it ever end? For heaven's sake, they've even begun to notice it in that land of opportunity across the pond.
